We'll pick you up at the Huamanmarca Plaza in Huancayo to kick off our day trip through some of the most outstanding places in the Jauja province.
Our first stop will be at the Huiscapuquio Thermal Baths, where we'll give you about an hour of free time to enjoy its refreshing and medicinal waters. Infused with minerals, these refreshing baths are not only a treat for the senses but also provide excellent benefits for the skin.
Next up, we'll approach the Pachacayo cattle ranch, near Shutjo Canyon. This place seamlessly combines nature and amazing landscapes that will leave you amazed.
We'll continue our tour and arrive at Canchayllo, a charming village, where we'll visit the main square and church. In Canchayllo, we'll take in the remnants of the Corivinchos archeological site, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We'll also pass through its Raimondi puya forest. At the end of this visit, we'll make a one-hour stop so you can have lunch on your own.
As we traverse Canchayllo, don't miss the enchanting Raimondi Puya forest. Following this exploration, we'll take a 1-hour break, allowing you to enjoy lunch at any of the local restaurants nearby.
Finally, we'll arrive at the majestic Shutjo Canyon, a hidden gem in Canchayllo. Made up of rock formations with walls that reach 70 meters high (229 feet) the most incredible thing is the view from the top! You'll have time to take pictures and contemplate the impressive horizon.
Afterward, we'll descend to see it from below and begin our return to Huancayo. But before ending the excursion, we'll make a brief stop at a distillery to taste their tequila. An excellent finishing touch to an exciting day!
After 10.5 hours of hiking, we'll return to the starting point in Huancayo bringing our day to an end.
