We'll collect you from your hotel in Huaraz at the scheduled time to commence this exhilarating 2-day journey in Hatun Machay, the renowned stone forest of Peru. Ready for adventure? Let's get started!
Our route takes us southward, passing through charming villages such as Recuay, Ticapam, and Catac before taking the detour towards the Cordillera Negra. Upon arrival, we'll go through the checkpoint and embark on a 20-minute hike to the captivating stone forest of Hatun Machay, a site designated as Cultural Heritage of the Nation.
As we explore this area, we'll come across cave paintings, petroglyphs, and astonishing rock formations that will leave you in awe. But as promised, we're here to provide you with an adventure, so we'll equip you for rock climbing in this extraordinary setting.
Hatun Machay boasts various routes with heights ranging from 15 to 60 meters (50 - 196 feet), with something for all skill levels. Your guide will assist you in climbing safely and maximizing your outdoor sporting experience.
Following our climbing activities, we'll make our way to the base camp, where we'll refuel with dinner and spend the night in tents. It's time to rest!
The following morning, after breakfast, we'll return to the stone forest for another round of climbing. Then, we'll head back to the minibus and begin our journey to Huaraz, where we'll drop you off at your hotel around 2 pm.
This tour includes one night of camping in tents within the striking stone forest of Hatun Machay.
