At 10:15 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel on Isabela Island to travel to the Flamingos Lagoon. Did you know that these pink feathered birds aren't native to the Galapagos Islands, but actually came from different parts of the American continent?
Within the entire archipelago, there are about 500 flamingos, but it's on Isabela Island where the largest population of these birds is concentrated. The natural wealth of the island and its large number of lagoons made this an attractive area for the flamingos to establish their home.
According to experts, since these flamingos have adapted to the new climate and food offered by this ecosystem, they are now considered a subspecies. While visiting this freshwater reserve, we'll get to see and learn all about these special flamingos of the Galapagos Islands!
