Ever wondered how Germany's former royal family used to live? Then this is the tour for you! At the designated time, we'll meet outside the museum on Residenzstraße to kick off this guided visit to the largest city palace in Germany. Ready to be amazed by its interior?
We'll begin the tour with an introduction to the royals who lived within these majestic palace walls. Forming part of the Wittelsbach family, Bavarian royalty lived in the Munich Residenz from the 16th century to the end of the monarchy in 1918. We'll discuss the lives of some of its most famous residents such as King Ludwig I and his son King Ludwig II. Fascinating!
One of the rooms we'll visit will be the stunning Antiquarium, a gem of Renaissance architecture featuring high ceilings, classical statues, and frescoes depicting mythological and historical scenes.
