Are you a nature lover? You can't miss this Tamaya hill hiking tour - we'll ascend to one of the most outstanding peaks of the Chilean region of Coquimbo and get breathtaking views of the area.
Tamaya Hill Hike
We'll swing by to pick you up at the indicated time from your hotel in downtown Ovalle and set off towards the old mining center of Tamaya, where we'll arrive after a journey of approximately half an hour.
Did you know that Tamaya was one of the main copper extraction centers in the world? We'll learn about its history while we embark on a trekking route through this unique area. During our medium-difficulty 2-kilometer (1.2-mile) hike, we'll gain around 317 meters (1,040 feet), but the effort will be totally worth it when we reach the top!
Tamaya Hill peak is located at 1,180 meters above sea level, and from up at the top, we'll enjoy unbeatable panoramic views of the coasts, valleys, and mountain ranges of Coquimbo. Get your cameras ready!
We'll take a tasty snack break and have a that includes juice, a cereal bar, and some cookies. After replenishing our energy and taking in the breathtaking surroundings, we'll head back down to the trailhead.
From the starting point of the hike, we'll finally return to your hotel in Ovalle, where we'll arrive after a total of 4 hours of hiking.
Hotel Pickup
This activity includes pickup from hotels in downtown Ovalle. If you're staying in more remote areas, we'll pick you up at the scheduled time at Plaza de Armas, the central square of the city.
