Apóstoles + Santa Maria Jesuit Ruins
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Posadas to jumpstart our unforgettable tour through Misiones. Get ready for a day of exploring in northeastern Argentina!
Our first stop is at Apóstoles, considered the capital of yerba mate in Argentina. We'll enjoy a panoramic tour through the city as we pass by Casa del Monte (House of Mate) and St. Peter's and St. Paul's Churches.
Next up, we'll head to the outskirts of Apóstoles, toward the Juan Szychowski Historical Museum. Upon arrival, you can tour, at your own pace, the wide-ranging exhibit dedicated to the history of Argentina's most-prized drink: yerba mate. Then, it's on to Azara, where we'll stop for a traditional lunch at La Granja de Don Casiano restaurant.
Then, with full bellies, we'll pass the village of Tres Capones to visit the Manto Sagrado de Maria Church. Then, our route will bring us to the small village of Concepción de la Sierra, where we'll make another pitstop to admire the Jesuit mission of Concepción. From here, the tour continues as we reach the ruins of Santa Maria la Mayor. At this site, we'll take a guided tour through the Jesuit settlement.
Finally, we'll bring you back to your hotel in Posadas, where we'll arrive after 12 hours of cultural exploration.
