Learn how the natives of the Amazon produce handicrafts with a fascinating artisan workshop in which you'll be able to choose the raw materials together with the locals.
Artisan workshop in the Amazonian Rainforest
At 8 am we'll meet at the Hospedaje Los Incas to venture out on this fascinating handicraft workshop in the jungle of Puerto Inca.
Handicrafts are a symbol of the cultural identity of the indigenous communities and they use their own patterns and colours. Fabrics, clothes, costume jewellery? Each handicraft product has its own meaning, and we'll discover all these secrets and curiosities throughout this experience.
We’ll go into the heart of the Amazon jungle on board a tuk-tuk and shortly after take an incredible hike to source and extract the materials we'll use to make the handicraft pieces: plants, stones, seeds and more.
After having selected the best raw materials, we’ll take a break for lunch and go to the handicraft production workshop. Here, the natives of the Amazon will help us to work with the materials to make pieces of jewellery and vegetable fibres, and you can even take home a souvenir at the end of the workshop!
At the end of the activity, we'll return by tuk-tuk to Puerto Inca and arrive there around 6 pm.
