Puerto Inca Chocolate Workshop
In a country full of flavors like Peru, chocolate has a privileged place. Some studies have claimed that Peru was the birthplace of cocoa consumption. The tropical climate is perfect for the cultivation of the cocoa tree, so its chocolate is one of the tastiest in the world.
With this workshop in Puerto Inca, we will learn everything about the Peruvian cocoa culture. We will meet at 8 am at Hospedaje Los Incas and begin the experience. First, we will accompany the producers to the farm, as the plantation is known.
There you will pick the ripe cocoa fruit yourself. Before we get down to business, we will take a break for a lunch that will include soup or salad, a plate of meat or fish, and a tasty fruit drink.
After lunch, we will go to the workshop to extract the white pulp of the fruit, where the cocoa beans are, and then it will be time to roast, peel, and crush them. We then grind the beans and temper and mold the cocoa to obtain the final product: a delicious, totally handmade chocolate.
At the end, we will taste the amazing chocolate that we have made with our own hands.
The workshop will end at 6 pm.
