San Sebastián Rainforest Excursion
After picking you up at the indicated time at the meeting point in Puerto López or Montañita, we'll begin this excursion to the San Sebastián rainforest. Ready to enter a unique natural landscape in the Ecuadorian province of Manabi?
We'll get into a vehicle and travel until we reach Río Blanco, where we begin a 3.5-hour hike through the San Sebastián rainforest.
Throughout the hike, we'll see different types of birds and the peculiar flora that populate Machalilla National Park, which has very similar characteristics to the Amazon rainforest. Did you know that it's an important site of biological regeneration within the Choco-Manabi Binational Corridor?
Be on the lookout! During the route we may also see howler monkeys, guans, guantas, deer, and a great variety of insects. As for the flora, the San Sebastián rainforest is home to more than 150 endemic species.
Worked up an appetite? Don't worry, at around 1:45 pm we'll take a break for a delicious lunch consisting of a starter, a main course, and a drink.
We'll finish the excursion by making our way back and leaving you at the meeting point. Arrival is scheduled between six and eight hours later, depending on where you finish the tour.
