Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Quito and set off to the Cotopaxi National Park, approximately 1.5 hours away from the capital.
Along the way, we'll stop at a cosy café located 9,842 ft (3,000 m) above sea level. Here, you can get used to the altitude with a cup of coca tea and meet the members of a local village.
After this stop, we'll continue toward the Caspi entrance, where you'll see the tour we'll enjoy inside the park with a map. As we continue on the road, you'll enjoy the views of the Andes. If you're lucky, we'll spot deer, wild horses, and native birds.
We'll make a short stop at a crafts and alpaca observation center, standing 11,482 ft (3,500 m) tall. Then, we'll travel to the foothills of the Cotopaxi volcano to take pictures of the Limpiopungo Valley and two surrounding volcanoes: Rumiñahui and Sincholagua.
Our trip will continue toward the Laguna of Limpiopungo, located at an altitude of 12,795 ft (3,900 m). Here, we'll embark on a hike of 30 minutes to 1 hour surrounded by impressive landscapes and local fauna, with the possibility of choosing between three different routes adapted to the group.
Finally, we'll start our journey back to Quito. Along the way, we'll stop at the town of Santa Rita so you can have lunch at a restaurant. Afterward, we'll drop you off at your hotel after a total of 5 to 7 hours.
