Cangallo Falls Hiking Tour
At 7:50 am, we'll meet at the Plaza de Armas and then head to the south of Ayacucho towards the mystical waterfalls of Cangallo.
We'll take the "Route of the Cangallo Falls", which runs through these legendary waterfalls where the Indians practiced their ritual offerings to the gods. According to legend, these waters possess magical properties and are charged with positive energies.
To begin the experience, we'll embark on a hiking route to the Pumapaqcha waterfall, one of the most impressive in the area. The total round-trip time of the hike will be about 40 minutes. Then, we'll head towards the Batán and Qorimaqma waterfalls, formed by the waterfalls of the Chankil and Macromayo rivers. This route will take us about 1.5 hours.
Afterwards, the bus will pick us up to take us to the Huahuapuquio pool, where you can take a refreshing bath in its mineral-rich thermal waters. Here, you'll have free time to have lunch on your own, as the pool has a restaurant.
Finally, we'll start our return to Ayacucho, but not before making a brief stop to see the town of Cangallo, aka the "City of Heroes and Heroines". We'll arrive back at the meeting point in Ayacucho around 8 pm.
