Venture deep into pre-Hispanic Peru on this private trip to the Royal Tombs of Sipán Museum and Huaca Rajada from Chiclayo. A perfect opportunity to discover the cultures of the Andean people.
Description
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Chiclayo and head to the Museum of the Archaeological Complex of Huaca Rajada-Sipán, a unique enclave of the pre-Columbian Moche and Lambayeque cultures.
At this site, we'll see a large group of huacas or pyramids dedicated to religious worship. We'll take a guided tour of the area and see the two platforms, one of which is estimated to have reached a height of 35 metres (114.8 ft). We'll also see the mausoleum, which was built on six different levels. The remains of the Lord of Sipán are on the sixth and last level—you'll be amazed!
We'll continue this private trip to Lambayeque, where we'll visit the Museum of the Royal Tombs of Sipán. This archaeological museum was inaugurated in 2002 and has a design based on the architecture of the pyramids of the Moiche and Lambayeque cultures.
During the guided tour of the museum, which covers an area of more than 3000 square metres (32291 square feet), we'll see a large collection of pre-Columbian artefacts. We'll also see replicas of the tombs of the Lord of Sipán, the old Lord of Sipán and the Mochica sacedorte.
Once the visit to the museum is over, we'll return to your hotel in Chiclayo, where we'll conclude this 5.5-hour private tour.
