Lush vegetation and gigantic rock formations are the highlights of this tour to Vila Velha Park. We'll explore this natural site and enjoy a typical German meal in the village of Colônia Witmarsum.
Vila Velha Park Tour
After picking you up at your hotel in Curitiba at 7 am, we'll drive to Vila Velha State Park, located just outside the city of Ponta Grossa. The minibus ride will take about an hour and a half.
Once at our destination, we'll start touring this natural place declared Historical and Artistic Heritage of the State of Paraná. We'll combine trips on board the minibus with others on foot to get to know this place in depth.
During the tour through the Vila Velha Park we'll see the sandstones, huge rock formations that were created 300 million years ago. We'll learn lots of interesting facts of these natural monuments that have become a tourist attraction in Paraná. What will you spot, a camel, a cup, a turtle? These are just some of the figures spotted in these incredible rock formations.
We'll make our way to see the 'furnas', underground lakes or aquifers surrounded by lush vegetation. You'll be able to take hundreds of photos and then we'll go to the Golden Lagoon, which reaches 12 meters (39 feet) deep. In its surroundings we'll see different ecosystems, from araucaria forests to grasslands and savannahs.
After the visit to the Vila Velha Park, we'll go to Colônia Witmarsum, a small village of German origin famous for the production of cheese, sausages and cookies. Here we'll enjoy a delicious lunch consisting of a typical Germanic dish. Enjoy!
With renewed energy, we'll start our return to Curitiba. We'll finish the excursion at 1 pm and drop you off at your hotel.
