Activity Details
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in El Calafate. Once we're all ready, we'll fasten our seatbelts in the off-roading vehicle and head east along the shores of Argentino Lake.
Along the way, we'll admire the contrast between the arid Patagonian steppe and the intense blue of the lake, a combination of colours that make for a beautiful landscape. On the way, we'll discover the autochthonous flower of the region, and we'll see its shrubs resistant to the Patagonian temperatures.
We'll go to the Mirador del Acantilado viewpoint, a strategic point that will give us the best view of Argentino Lake and the Andes Mountain Range. There, we'll get off the off-roading vehicle to feel the breeze and take some photos of this beautiful corner of the world.
Afterwards, we'll get back on the road towards the coast to enter an archaeological site that houses cave paintings that are thousands of years old.
We'll walk through the caves surrounding the lake and observe the markings on the rocks and walls. It will be a journey back in time as you observe these human figures, hunting scenes and abstract symbols that tell the story of a community who lived in this wild environment.
After discovering this enigmatic past of Argentino Lake, we'll head to a restaurant inside a cave. Incredible, don't you think?
As soon as we arrive, we'll sit at the table to enjoy a menu consisting of pumpkin soup and lamb casserole served on rustic bread, a delicacy that will connect us even more with the Patagonian culture. For dessert, we'll enjoy a chocolate and red fruit mousse. All of this will be accompanied by wine and juices.
Finally, we'll return and conclude the experience by dropping you off at your hotel 3 hours after the initial pickup.
