El Calafate Stargazing

We’ll pick you up at your hotel in El Calafate at the scheduled time and head to the outskirts of the city, where the La Catalina ranch is located.

Along the 19 mi (30 km) road trip on the legendary National Route 40, you’ll enjoy beautiful views of Lake Argentino and the Andes Mountains.

Upon arrival at the ranch, you’ll have a short time to explore and learn about the history, customs, and traditions of rural life in Argentina, in true gaucho style.

Then, we'll watch a short 15-minute astronomy presentation. Once we’ve learned the basics, it’s time to put them into practice. Ready to observe the stars and celestial bodies? Using a telescope, we’ll identify the Milky Way along with various nebulae and constellations.
