We'll pick you up at your hotel in Huanuco at 4 am and travel by minibus to the archaeological site of Huánuco Pampa.
The site, also called Wanuco Marka, houses numerous vestiges of an ancient and important Inca administrative center. During the tour of this outstanding historical place, we'll admire the remains of a great citadel. Its thick walls were intended to protect the capital of Chinchaysuyo, one of the four main regions of the Inca empire.
The ancient city, in its prime between 1460 and 1536, saw its expansion slow down after the arrival of the Spaniards. Today, however, we can still see the remains of extensive rectangular enclosures called kallankas. Do you know what they were used for? We'll tell you all about it on the tour!
After visiting Huánuco Pampa we head to the nearby town of La Unión, where you'll have an hour free for lunch. Then, we'll go on a sightseeing tour of the city, where we'll see sites like the Puente Mariscal Caceres bridge and the thermal baths of Tauripampa.
From there we'll return to Plaza de Armas in Huánuco, where we'll arrive at 7 pm.
