If you're looking to enjoy Andean nature, don't miss this hike around the Rosales lagoons, where we'll enjoy the captivating Patagonian landscape and discover its wide-ranging biodiversity of fauna and flora.
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel in San Martín de los Andes to make our way towards the Rosales lagoon, located just 30 minutes away.
Once we've arrived at its banks, we'll begin a relaxing hike around the Rosales lagoons. During the walk, which is of a fairly low level of difficulty, we'll cover around 3km (1.86 miles) along a lush Patagonian forest.
As we hike along the banks of the Rosales lagoons and enjoy the landscapes of the forest that surrounds us, we'll admire many species of birds. Among these include chucaos, huet-huets, rayaditos and red hawks. We'll also have the opportunity to see other native Patagonian birds, such as the southern lapwing, ashy-headed goose and royal ashy-headed goose, Patagonian finch and the great gebe.
We'll continue this hike around a mallín, a marshy grassland typical of Patagonia. During the hike around this natural space, we'll discover what plant species inhabit this ecosystem.
Finally, we'll begin walking back towards the start of the trail, and from there, we'll return to our vehicle, which will bring us back to San Martín de los Andes. We're expected to arrive back a the hotels after around 4 hours together.
