Discover the wildlife that inhabits the Chilean part of Tierra del Fuego on our kayak tour of the Beagle Channel. You'll also spot the large colony of sea lions and coastal birds.
At 9 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Williams and drive you to a campsite located 19 miles (30 kilometres) west of the city.
When we get there, we'll be given a safety briefing. We'll then get kitted out in our waterproofs, wetsuits, life jackets and other necessary gear before we hop into our kayaks and start exploring the Beagle Channel. This narrow sea passage links the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and is a great place to go kayaking.
After a few practice paddles in a sheltered bay, we'll start rowing through open water while admiring incredible beaches and steep cliffs in the Chilean part of the Beagle Channel. The channel also serve as a natural border with Argentina in the middle of the Tierra del Fuego archipelago.
Once we've got the hang of kayaking, we'll head to an islet inhabited by seabirds and a large colony of sea lions. These friendly mammals usually swim and dive among the kayaks, where we'll see them up close.
Our kayak tour will finish with our return to the campsite. When we get there, we'll get our energy back with a picnic lunch that'll include a variety of local products and a tasty craft beer. You'll also be able to have either a coffee, tea or mate.
We'll then take you back to your hotel in Puerto Williams and drop you off at 5 pm.
