Row through the icy waters of the Beagle Channel and admire the coastline of Puerto Williams and Navarino Island on our kayak tour. We'll explore the Chilean part of Tierra del Fuego and be left enchanted by its scenery.
At 10 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Williams and drive to a campsite located in the outskirts of the city.
When we get there, we'll discuss some safety rules for this activity and then get our wetsuits, waterproofs, protective skirts and other equipment ready. Let's hop into our kayaks!
We'll row through the icy waters of the Beagle Channel, which is a narrow strait that links the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific Ocean. The first part of the route will be in a more sheltered area, where you'll be able to get the hang of kayaking. Once you feel a bit more confident, we'll move away from Puerto Williams so we can admire its coastline and the rest of Navarino Island.
During the tour, we'll learn about the bird species native to this remote southern tip of South America. We'll also learn about the history of the Yaganes, an Indigenous Fuegian community whose origins go back several centuries.
Our tour will come to an end as we return to the campsite. Once we're back, we'll have a snack of some local products and a craft beer. Afterwards, we'll take you back to your hotel in Puerto Williams and drop you off at 2 pm.
