Explore the natural beauty of the Andes with this fantastic trip to Desert Lake. You will also enjoy a pleasant boat ride and take in wonderful views of the Vespignani Glacier.
Lake of the Desert Trip
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in El Chaltén and, for one and a half hours, we will drive along zigzagging mountain roads, leafy forests, and alongside the Río de las Vueltas river until we reach the picturesque Lago del Desierto (Desert Lake).
Once there, we'll head to the pier and board the boat that will take us out along the waters of the lake for around 30 minutes. As we drift on the gentle waves, we will admire the magnificent Huemul and Crestón glaciers. This is a sight you will never forget!
Then we visit the equally impressive Vespignani Glacier where you will have free time to admire the impressive panorama of the ice tongues. You will even see the north face of the mighty Mount Fitz Roy!
After exploring the glacier, we'll stop for a rest and a hot tea with cookies. Afterward, we'll set sail across the Lago del Desierto (Desert Lake) and before heading back to El Chatlén where our brilliant adventure finishes 9 hours after we first began.
Half-day trip
If you have less time to do the tour, we offer you the option of booking the half-day tour. In this case, we will shorten the itinerary so you will have less free time at the Vespignani Glacier.
