If you want to admire the spectacular glacial landscapes of Argentine Patagonia from a truly unique perspective, you cannot miss this cruise on Lake Viedma. It is an unforgettable experience in El Chaltén.
Activity Details
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up at 520 San Martín Street in El Chaltén and head towards the shores of Lake Viedma, one of the most breathtaking glacial lakes in Argentine Patagonia.
After a journey of around 30 minutes, we'll arrive at the Bahía Túnel port, where our cruise across Lake Viedma begins. As we sail over its striking turquoise waters, you will enjoy views of the snow-covered Huemul Massif, one of the region’s most iconic mountain ranges.
Following a crossing of approximately 40 minutes, we'll reach Cabo de Hornos Bay. There, we'll disembark to take in the scenery of this peninsula, a unique corner of Los Glaciares National Park. Here, an extraordinary landscape unfolds before us: Iceberg Bay, with its drifting blocks of ice, set against the dramatic backdrop of the Andes mountain range.
After soaking up these remarkable views, we'll return to the boat. On board, you will be served a sandwich, a brownie and mineral water, all included. We'll then continue sailing across the lake as we approach the Viedma Glacier. From the deck, you will be able to fully appreciate the immense wall of ice, with its deep blue tones and ever-changing textures. You will also learn about the geological features of this ancient glacier, the largest in Argentina.
Finally, we'll sail back to Bahía Túnel port and return by road to the meeting point in El Chaltén, where this 4.5-hour experience will come to an end.
